People in eurozone countries sending money home, students paying European tuition, and businesses invoicing in euros usually want one number: how many rupees a euro buys today. The converter above gives the mid-market reference rate for the Euro against the Pakistani rupee and works in both directions. It is a benchmark, not an offer. What a bank, an exchange company or a money-transfer service pays out will differ, and the next sections explain why.
How the EUR to PKR rate is built
The euro floats against the dollar, so the euro-rupee rate moves with both the euro-dollar rate and the dollar-rupee rate. The rate on this page is derived from the US dollar. The dollar-rupee rate is the base, and the euro's value per dollar converts it. Our dollar rate page shows the interbank and open-market dollar quotes in Pakistan separately.
Reference rate versus the rate you actually get
Three rates exist for any currency pair at once:
- Mid-market rate: the midpoint between what buyers will pay and sellers will accept. This is what the page shows.
- Interbank rate: the rate at which banks trade with each other. In Pakistan, the State Bank of Pakistan publishes interbank dollar rates on its website.
- Retail rate: what a counter or app quotes you. It sits on one side of the mid-market rate, and any fee or commission sits on top.
The difference between the retail and mid-market rates is the provider's margin. Comparing the final rupee amount a provider will deliver, after all fees, is the only like-for-like check.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How is the euro to rupee rate calculated?
- This page converts through the US dollar: the dollar-rupee rate divided by the number of euros per dollar. The euro floats against the dollar, so the euro-rupee rate moves with both the euro-dollar rate and the dollar-rupee rate.
- Why does my bank or exchange company quote a different EUR rate?
- The rate on this page is a mid-market reference rate, the midpoint between buying and selling prices. Banks, exchange companies and money-transfer services quote a lower rate when they buy rupees from you and a higher one when they sell, and some add a fee. The gap is the provider's margin.
- How often is the EUR to PKR rate on this page updated?
- The page fetches the rate from its data provider every three hours. The provider itself publishes a new set of rates once a day, and the update date is shown above the calculator.
